My yoga journey started with
John Porter's weekly Hatha yoga classes in London in 1995.
On leaving London in 2003 I practised in Kent with Carol Brewer
(Sampoorna yoga) and Alan Bain (Hatha yoga).
Following moving to Wiltshire in 2006
I was a student of Lydia Holmes and Edgar Stringer's (Iyengar yoga) classes.
I began studying with Simon Chandler and Bev Sowerby (Ashtanga yoga) in 2010
and following their relocation in 2014
have been continuing my
yoga studies with their designated successors
Sheridan Forbes followed by Sylvia Delfino
and since December 2017 Chrissie Gregory also.
From February 2014 until their untimely demise in August 2020
the Bristol Bikram/ Cityzen Yoga crew enhanced my practise.
Since January 2024 I have been benefiting from Adam Keen's online ashtanga teaching.
I feel huge gratitude to all my teachers past and present.
They have inspired my yoga practise
and changed many aspects of my life for the better.
I hope I can
pass on to you some of the wisdom
and generosity they shared with me.
In February 2012 I completed a
500 hour British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) Teacher
Training Diploma Course taught by Paul Fox.
I have been teaching Hatha Yoga since July 2010.
I am also a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Registered Physiotherapist
(MSc Advanced Physiotherapy University College London 2005,
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Kings College London 1999)
currently employed by the
National Health Service (NHS).
I am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy,
my full name is Virginia Clother.
